Convert Water Into Hydrogen For Your Car
As a creature of habit, we were brought up driving gas-guzzling cars and trucks and would like to continue to do so. Unfortunately, with today’s fuel prices, that is becoming very expensive. If we can just break out of the old mindset, that things can’t change and that includes our automobiles, we can help ourselves.
The modern automobile is no different than it’s predessor in that it is designed to run on gasoline or diesel and with a few creature comforts that have been added, remains unchanged. We all know that gasoline is flammable, or that it will burn. But, did you know that hydrogen, the lightest element on Earth and one of the most prevalent will burn? It certainly will. Do you remember the old film of the dirigible Hindenburg as it exploded and burned? Most of us have seen it many times. You see, the Germans filled it with hydrogen instead of the inert gas helium as hydrogen, being lighter, would lift more weight. Well, a spark ocurred and the Hindenburg with it’s load of hydrogen detonated. Very dangerous in the wrong place. And, gasoline is very explosive and dangerous if not controlled.
Back to hydrogen though. If hydrogen will burn, and the is easily found, why can’t we just burn it in our car? We can. There are cars designed that run entirely on hydrogen. Very expensive too. Maybe, they will be affordable in a decade or so. In the meantime, the automobile we drive today can be made to run on a mixture of gasoline or diesel, air, which is free, and a regulated amount of hydrogen that is added to the mixture. The hydrogen replaces some of the gasoline or diesel and thus saves us money as we need less gasoline to propel our car.
Where do we get the hydrogen? Well, as it turns out, it is in the water we drink and bathe in. Water is composed of hydrogen and oxygen. We just need to separate some of it and off we go! The method used by many is to use electricity created by your automobile to separate the hydrogen from water as you drive along.
