As it was not possible to carry out a sufficient production with a manual embroidered patterns, the Russians adopted successfully the manufactoring processes of the Gobelins tapestries to manufacture the shawls.
Inspired like everyone by the exuberant design of the Indians shawls, the Russians re-used traditional designs from the CaucasusTzigans people, containing stylized floral decorations with frank and beautiful colors, and by adding silk or wool fringes.
The result is splendid, and the success of these shawls has remained constant for more than three centuries. The women adore them and the men know that it is a gift always appreciated by their partners.
